If you suspect your VPS is infected, follow these steps to scan and try to remove malware or viruses:
Usage/Task Manager
- Viruses and Malware infections can cause high CPU, RAM, or Network usage, without the specific reason. It would be a good idea to open Task Manager, check the usage and check if there are any unknown processes running. If you see any unknown app or file- make sure to investige it and delete:
Scan for Malware

Search Windows for Windows Security app and open it:

Choose Virus & Threat protection option from the menu on the left side:

Make sure to have Virus & threat protection settings turned on, then click Scan options:

Select Full Scan and click Scan Now:
Network Traffic Check

Search Windows for Resource Monitor app and open it:

Check if there are any unknown processes using the internet:

If there are any unknown processes- make sure to suspend them. Right Click on the process and choose Suspend Process:
