Most common questions before purchasing a plan

What is the monthly cost of the server?

ChartVPS provides two server options: Virtual Private Servers (VPS) and dedicated servers. Each category encompasses a variety of plans tailored to different markets such as forex, futures, and crypto, as well as distinct trading setups including automated strategies, manual trading, and hedging operations. The pricing begins at $40 per month for VPS and $150 per month for dedicated servers. True to our name, we excel in server virtualization, and currently offer 10 specialized VPS plans, incorporating everything from high frequency CPU cores to dedicated GPU + Tensor cores and GDDR6 VRAM.

Is there a setup fee?

There are no setup fees or any hidden charges involved. What you see on the website is the exact price for each plan. Some regions, like Canada and its provinces, may have sales tax added at checkout, as mandated by law.

Can I upgrade the server resources later?

Yes. All servers are upgradable. If an upgrade is needed, a request can be made via chat or through the ChartVPS Portal. All billing is prorated and up to 30 minutes of downtime is required for new resources to be allocated.

Does upgrading to a higher plan preserve data, or will I need to reinstall my software?

All existing user data is preserved for VPS upgrades. Only 30 minutes of downtime are needed to assign additional resources. Upgrading a VPS to a dedicated server or dedicated server to another dedicated server involves building a new configuration, so although billing is prorated, data cannot be preserved – that said, we’ll leave the old server running until you’ve moved your data over to the new.

Do you offer refunds or a money-back guarantee?

No, but we do let you try most plans at ½ price during the first month. Think of it as a highly discounted trial before fully committing to a server.

Is there a limit on data transfer bandwidth?

The bandwidth allocation varies depending on the chosen plan, ranging from 1000GB to 8000GB for VPS plans. This includes uploads and downloads. To give you an idea of how much data that is, you can run hundreds of charts 24/7 and still only use less than 500GB. Limits exist mainly to filter out torrenters. Our Dedicated Server plans have no bandwidth limit, but torrenting operations are still restricted.

Do you offer managed or unmanaged servers?

You can think of our server plans as partially-managed. While we don’t manage your server on a constant basis, we’re happy to help you set-up any software you need, troubleshoot various problems (including common platform issues), and administer your server on an on-demand basis.

What is your server uptime guarantee?

For both, VPS and dedicated servers, our real uptime stands at the industry-leading 99.99%. Many hosts don’t publish their real uptime stats, but we stand behind ours. We also offer a 100% SLA Uptime guarantee. More info at https://chartvps.com/uptime
