You might be surprised to learn just how many different ways you can connect to your ChartVPS server and even more surprised when you hear how many devices you can connect from. Alongside the expected desktops and laptops, you can access your VPS from a tablet, a smartphone, and pretty much anything in between! The best way to do this also happens to be free โ the Windows App. Not only is it free, but you can nab it on every major OS, including Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. Pretty convenient, huh?
For now, letโs tackle the process of connecting to your VPS or Server on an Android device. Itโs pretty straightforward, so letโs dive right in!
1
The first thing you’ll want to do is log in to the ChartVPS Portal in whatever internet browser you’re comfortable with to access your VPS credentials. You’ll specifically need the IP address, your username, and your password. (If you’re not sure how to find your credentials, check out our handy guide).
2
After that, youโre going to need to download the Windows App from the Google Play Store. Just open that link and hit Install, and youโll have the app.
3
Next up, youโll want to launch the app. Once itโs open, youโll be given a variety of options. For your purposes here, go ahead and select PC connection.
4
This next screen might look a bit intimidating, but never fear โ weโll be done with it in a snap! With your VPS credentials from Step 1 in hand, pick the PC Name field and input the IP Address.
5
Now, tap the User Account field and select Add user account from the options. Youโll see a field that allows you to enter a username and password. All youโve got to do is input the username and password you also found in the Portal in Step 1, and hit Save.
6
Beneath that, in the General area, you can choose to give this connection a Friendly Name, which is what it’ll be called in the app. This simply makes it easier to identify your server at a glance, so feel free to get creative and call it whatever you want.
7
Weโre in the home stretch now! With all this info logged into its respective fields, tap Save in the top-right corner.
8
And look at that! Your VPS or Server remote desktop profile is all ready to be used. Just tap on it to connect, and youโre home free.
